Eg har jobba i skuleverket i Etne i mange \u00e5r, b\u00e5de i grunnskulen og i vidareg\u00e5ande. I lange periodar jobba eg utanlands for norske hjelpeorganisasjoner og for FN-organisasjonane UNICEF OG UNHCR. F\u00f8r eg blei pensjonist, var eg i fem \u00e5r seksjonsleiar ved den norske seksjonen p\u00e5 ein vidareg\u00e5ande skule i Lyon, Frankrike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eg har interessert meg for politikk heilt sidan eg blei medlem av Unge H\u00f8gre i Stavanger, der eg var med i styret i fleire \u00e5r. Eg melde meg inn i H\u00f8gre i Etne d\u00e5 me flytta hit i 1982, og har sete i kommunestyret i to periodar, sist gong som gruppeleiar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interessen for politikk har ogs\u00e5 f\u00f8rt til at eg har f\u00e5tt h\u00f8ve til \u00e5 delta som valobservat\u00f8r i mange land rundt om i verda, mest i Afrika. For \u00e5 kvalifisera meg til slike oppdrag har eg teke fleire kurs innan statsvitenskap ved Universitetet i Bergen, n\u00e5 sist kurset \u00abDemokratisering og demokratiassistanse\u00bb. Foredragshaldarane er klare p\u00e5 ein ting: Demokratiet som styreform er i tilbakegang i mange land i verda. Det syner seg p\u00e5 mange m\u00e5tar; m.a. er er valdeltakinga eit viktig m\u00e5l for korleis det st\u00e5r til med demokratiet. Eg vil derfor oppmoda alle om \u00e5 bruka stemmeretten sin, og vera med p\u00e5 \u00e5 avgjera kven som skal styra kommunen dei neste fire \u00e5ra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-teft-gallery
