Seven good reasons to vote Høyre
We’re getting Drammen up to speed!
After 4 years of red-green governance, we must speed up Drammen. Then we need to team up with those who create jobs and those who want to develop our municipality for the better. We must put the individual first and become a ‘yes’ municipality. Høyre, The Conservative Party, wants to make Drammen into a municipality with opportunities for everyone!
1. Look forward to growing old in Drammen
The proportion of elderly people is increasing, and in 2030 we will have almost 22,000 elderly people in our municipality. Høyre wants all older people to have the opportunity for an active and social life. In the care services, there must be tasty meals, good care and more coherent services. We will reintroduce user choice in the home services, so that the elderly will be able to be in charge of their own lives and be able to choose between municipal, non-profit or private services that best suit their needs.
2. No to property tax
The municipal economy is tight. If the elected officials do not use the money in a good way, the road to property tax is short. Høyre is the guarantor against the introduction of property tax.
3. A school for the students
1 in 5 pupils leave Drammen’s schools without being able to read, calculate and write properly. Høyre’s goal is to create a school with opportunities for everyone, regardless of background. We will focus on adapted teaching for pupils who struggle with school and pupils who do not experience enough mastery. We have high expectations to the teachers and invest in continuing their education. At the same time, we need to strengthen the team around the students with more nurses and environmental workers – so the students learn within a good framework.
4. A new Drammen with new opportunities
Høyre will ensure that Drammen once again becomes a ‘yes’ municipality, where we support forward-looking industry and people who want to create something. We will make it easier to establish new jobs. By 2027, there will be 2,500 new office jobs and 1,500 new logistics and industrial jobs in Drammen.
5. Opportunities for everyone
3,500 children grow up poor in Drammen and many families struggle to make ends meet. They must prioritize food on the table before activities for their children. will give all children and young people in Drammen the opportunity to participate in at least one leisure activity a week, regardless of their parents’ wallets.
6. Everyone should be able to live in Drammen
Høyre will work to enable more people to achieve their dream of housing. We will create new ways into the housing market by building 3,000 new and more varied homes in the municipality. The Conservative Party will work to ensure that as many people as possible get the opportunity to own their own home, including through the «rent to own» scheme.
7. A greener Drammen
Drammen will become a greener municipality. Høyre wants to cut the municipality’s greenhouse gas emissions and make it easy to make climate- and environment-friendly choices. We will invest in solutions where the individual can contribute. We will team up with the business community, and use the municipality’s purchasing power to prioritize local, environmentally friendly providers.
